Biography
Australian pianist David Soo has appeared in many concert halls throughout Australasia, the Far East and in Europe. These include Australia House, the Barbican Concert Hall, St-Martin-in-the-Fields, Goodenough College for Her Majesty the Queen, the Old Bailey, La Plantation Concert Hall (Beijing), Haikou Town Hall (Hainan, China), the Kuala Lumpur Convention and Exhibition Centre, Melbourne Recital Centre, the ABC Studios in Adelaide, and Melbourne. His performances have also been heard live on Australian Classic FM, New Zealand Classic FM and FMITE Spanish Radio. David has been the recipient of numerous awards throughout Australia and in the United Kingdom and has also been a laureate in international piano competitions in France and Malaysia. David was a finalist in the 2020 Southbank Centre Martin Musical Awards and the Park Lane Group Trust. David was an Artist Fellow at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he taught piano and musicianship to undergraduate students. He also coordinated performance platforms for students on the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. David is generously supported by the Youth Music Foundation, Mary Elizabeth McComas Trust, the Australian Music Foundation, and the Australian Government. David studied piano with Glenn Riddle and Joan Havill.
