Biography

Katarina Grobler is a young Australian pianist, who specialises in performing works by Australian, contemporary, and less well known composers. She is a multi-instrumentalist, and has experience performing in classical, jazz, contemporary and pop music styles. She holds a Bachelor of Music (Performance) from the Sydney Conservatorium, having studied under Dr Paul Rickard-Ford and Bernadette Harvey, and is currently studying privately with Gintaras Januševičius (Hanover, Germany). During her studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Katarina was Vice-President of the Sydney University Piano Society and President of the Conservatorium Students Association. In 2019, her passion for the intersection between music and gender studies allowed her to have two academic articles published in university journals, both which focus on the representation of women in music. In 2019, Katarina also directed her own concert festival in 2019 for the 200th Anniversary of Clara Schumann, where she featured as a soloist with the Modest Orchestra performing Clara Schumann’s piano concerto. Internationally, Katarina Has appeared as a soloist across Europe including countries such as Croatia, Lithuania, Slovenia, and Germany, while participating in masterclasses with renowned pedagogues such as Roberto Plano (Italy) and Gintaras Januševičius (Germany). Presently, Katarina is the featured pianist for Dreambox Collective and continues to perform musically diverse concert programs.
