Biography
Reuben Tsang is currently in his final year at Cairns State High School. He began learning the piano at age 5 with Koko Julian and is currently studying piano with Natasha Vlassenko. At age 10, he won first place for the Nancy Weir Scholarship Award and at age 14, he received his AmusA diploma for piano. Reuben has been involved in the Little Lev Masterclasses in 2015 and 2017, and was fortunate to perform on the 2015 Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition Finals Night in the Queensland Conservatorium Theatre. Additionally, he was invited to perform as one of the showcase items at the 2016 Sydney International Piano Competition in Verbrugghen Hall, which was also broadcasted on ABC Classics. He has also won numerous prizes in the Cairns Eisteddfod, the Australian Concerto and Vocal Competition (Townsville) and the Queensland Piano Competition (Brisbane). In 2017 and 2019, he was awarded first prize in the Diploma Section in the Queensland Piano Competition.
