Biography

Joy is eleven years old and has learned piano for five years. In 2019, she received thirteen awards (six first prizes) at Sydney, St. George, and Ryde eisteddfods held in Sydney. Some of the prizes include the 'Most Promising Student' Minte Juwita Award (10 years and under) and first place in Open Age Piano Concerto category at St. George Eisteddfod, and the first prize in 19th Century Piano category at Sydney Eisteddfod. She has also received 'Gold with Honours' in the Advanced section of the Australian International Music Competition, Sydney. Joy performed Mozart Piano Concerto K.414 with an orchestra in December 2019.

Last year, she was awarded Music Scholarship (piano) from Pymble Ladies College and was amongst three piano finalists of Sydney Eisteddfod 'Crowd Favourite Performances Competition' (selected out of 500 online entries). She was placed third in Shanghai International Online Piano Competition and is a finalist of the Singapore International Solo & Ensemble Competition.

Joy is a keen chamber musician, frequently accompanying violin and flute for her friends. She is a member of the Baroque Ensemble at Pymble Ladies College, learning to play the harpsichord. She is currently studying piano with Dr Wojciech Wisniewski.
