Yesterday concluded the Recital Rounds of the Lev Vlassenko and Young Lev Vlassenko Piano Competitions. Following auditions of 74 applicants nationally, 23 recitalists presented performances from prestigious venues across 5 capital cities. Despite multiple Covid lockdowns and travel restrictions nationally we have been able to showcase the dedication and talent of all recitalists, with all performances livestreamed free to an international audience and to our eminent Recitals Jury. We were swept away with the depth of ability and energy, and under the challenging circumstances of the past few weeks. The performances are all available to view free as Video-on-Demand through our website at lev-vlassenko.com and available here. The Lev Vlassenko Competition, with your support, is proud to have given these piano superstars of the future the opportunity to perform, to compete, and to be in the running for a range of prizes which recognise their commitment.

We congratulate each of these superstars on their performance. They can rest assured that their talent has shone through this stellar field, and been recognised by the eminent independent jury. Stay tuned for the announcement of the Finalists! We will soon announce the finalists for the inaugural ‘Young Lev’ and for the main Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition. These 6 finalists rehearse and perform with Queensland Symphony Orchestra later this year in Brisbane. With $60,000 in prize money, and major performance engagements at stake, we will all be watching to see which of these superstars will progress to this important stage.
