Today’s Feature Finalist - Tina Algeri



This month’s Feature Finalist is 16 year old Tina Algeri. Born in Perth, Western Australia, Tina began her musical journey at the age 5 and has made serious commitment to piano in her life. She studies under the tutelage of teacher Mr Yoon Sen Lee and performs in many concerts in local churches as well as concerts within her school community.


Despite her young age Tina has already been successful in various local and international piano competitions and has performed widely. In 2016, Tina won first prize in the Golden Key International Music Festival and second prize in the American Protégé performing at Carnegie Hall, New York. During that year, Tina obtained a music scholarship from St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School and in 2017 performed for his Excellency the Governor General.


In 2018, Tina entered the 6th Global International Piano Competition (China) and was invited to perform in Shenzhen where she won first prize in her age category and was one of eight pianists honoured with a contract for future solo performances and concertos with orchestra. The following year she performed with the Wuhan Philharmonic Orchestra at Qintai Hall (China). In France, Tina also won the first prize in the Concours international de piano “Ville de Gagny”. While in France, Tina completed her Diploma with High Distinction at the Conservatoire International de Musique de Paris, and has recently obtained her Licentiate of Trinity College London exam with distinction. Tina has been awarded a scholarship program to have early matriculation for undergraduate part time music studies at the University of Western Australia.
